I lead HR for PURCH, a dynamic, fast-growing and ever-changing digital content/services company with 11 websites and over 100 million unique visitors each year. I have been with Purch since 2012 during this time. I have replaced a reactive HR approach with strategic, proactive leadership that is aligned with the organization’s business goals. Because the organization is growing so quickly, recruitment is a key element of my responsibility and I have focused on making PURCH an employer of choice for talented professionals by creating a fun, upbeat and results-driven employment culture. This has included overhauling compensation and benefits, ensuring upward mobility through ongoing training, improving corporate communication, and creating a culture in which excellence is recognized and rewarded. In short, we look for smart, scrappy, and entrepreneurial candidates who are keen to make a real impact, and we give them the tools, environment and training that allows them to achieve great things. Prior to joining PURCH I worked in a variety of established and start-up businesses across multiple industries including an IT outsourcing firm, a manufacturing company and an airline. I also spent several years consulting. In each of my roles, I have focused on creating proactive, business-savvy HR functions and leveraging positive employment cultures to drive real business growth. Outside of work my interests include creating stained glass and chasing after my English Bulldog Gertrude.
