I love to solve problems and I have been doing that for the last 5 year with mostly python. I have worked on e-commerce sites and digital asset management and UK advertising clearing sites.My main role at Pole Star is to implement a RESTful API using Django Tastypie. Like all previous positions, I look for things to keep my challenged and busy as possible. That includes: taking on legacy systems and improving performance and response times, working on best practices for coding and agile scrum, working with Puppet to get our service in a state that we can quickly deploy them to environments as quickly as possible.Previously, at Hogarth Worldwide, I worked on CoypCentral which is used to clear 95% of the UK's television commercials. It is a bespoke application, with custom workflows and high definition video streaming. We were pioneers at Hogarth by implementing the latest versions of tested but unused technologies.I am a man of many hats; I review all the code that goes into the system, test all the functionality, set the release schedule, work with the client to set priorities, maintain local, testing and UAT environments. I work closely with our Poland counter-parts making sure the requirements are understood. All these hats allow me grow and learn new skills and to approach things differently to get the most out of what we have.I received Master's of Science from the University of Nottingham in Information Technology focusing on software engineering as well as a Bachelor's of Science from Michigan State University in Media and Communication Technology with a minor in history and cognates in computer science and mathematics.
