I started my banking career in 1984 with Suburban Bank as a teller in Richmond, Virginia. Moved to Sovran Bank as a customer service representative from September 1985 to 1989. I then joined County Bank of Chesterfield which became SouthTrust Bank, October 1989 to March 2004, starting as a teller and moved up to a Branch Manager/Consumer Lender. Continued Branch Manager/Consumer Lender experience with Citizens Bank & Trust from March 2004 until I joined the Bank of Virginia in February 2005 where I continued to grow in my career. Started as a Branch Manager for several years and moved up to a Small Business Lender for 3 years until promoted to Retail Banking Executive to further promote to VP/Consumer Lender. I oversaw the day to day operations of Bank of Virginia 's consumer lending to include approval of all consumer loans, training retail process and procedures and business development.
