Accomplished creative director, master wordsmith, and communications professional specializing in the development of creative trademarks and brand identities. In my current role as President of Creative, I lead Brand Institute’s verbal branding projects and serve as “Chief Namer” for the company. I have led thousands of branding and naming initiatives during my 18+ years with Brand Institute, working with clients from all industries and sectors. In the healthcare space, I have developed brand names and creative nomenclature for 45 of the world’s 50 largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as well as a multitude of startup and midsize companies. I am an expert in the development of drug brand names, medical device names, clinical trial names, and line extensions/modifiers. Some of the well-known pharmaceutical brands he has partnered on include Latisse (Allergan), Entyvio (Takeda), Lunesta (Sunovion), and Imbruvica (Janssen). I am extremely proud to have led the creative development for Pfizer & BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine brand name, Comirnaty, and Novavax' Nuvaxovid. I have a wealth of experience naming consumer brands and companies as well, including the company Sunovion, the device/procedure CoolSculpting (Allergan), Taco Bell's CrunchWrap Supreme and Baja Blast, and Lenovo's IdeaPad. I have also partnered on brand architecture projects with clients such as Energizer, P&G and Galderma. I am proficient in the disciplines related to the creation and marketing of brands, including strategy, positioning, trademark law, regulatory affairs, and the development of strategic naming briefs. In my previous role as President, Operations & Communications, I led Brand Institute’s Miami-based operations and global corporate communications. I continue to be head of corporate communications, where I serve as lead coordinator for Brand Institute’s traditional-and-social media efforts. I have appeared on/been quoted in various national/international print, radio, online and television media, including CNN, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, CBS New Sunday Morning, NPR, STAT, National Geographic, Reuters, Bloomberg, and the Miami Herald, among others.
