Varied, valuable experience only happens when you find yourself in the deep end; like Trading OTC derivatives during Lehman's/GFC, managing EU peripheral bonds during the Greek crisis and now as a corporate credit fund manager during China's bumpy rise to Global Superpower #1. Always Stay Flexible. A workplace passion of mine is more mathematics into fund management. My added value comes through building investment tools aiding automation/efficiency, data visualisation or innovative application of things like big data and machine learning. Opportunities Are Made. And most importantly have fun whilst working hard - office banter is key to sustainability. My DRIVE comes from challenges on and off the trading desk. Challenges include completing 4 marathons one being Great Wall of China, cycling from London to Paris, 1,000km rickshaw race across India, 7 day husky dog race across Arctic circle, 500km mountain bike race in East Timor, building schools in Cambodia and homes in post earthquake Nepal. All for great charities whilst raising over $100k. Getting involved, and often having to take a lead is when you really feel the benefits.
