Nearly 30 years in practice, Marla concentrates her work among litigation and dispute resolution, business entities and corporations, companies engaged in the management and operation of contracts with the federal government, and the defense and liability mitigation of labor and employment conflicts. Marla began her career as a prosecutor in the New Orleans District Attorney’s Office under District Attorney Harry Connick, Sr. She served first as an assistant district attorney, and was selected to be one of a four attorney team assigned to a special task force prosecuting career criminal, high profile, multiple offender drug cases. During her tenure, she prosecuted 36 felony jury trials with 35 convictions and 2 life sentences, and first-chaired over 1100 evidentiary hearings. Advocacy has remained central in Marla’s practice, as she has represented clients in federal and state tribunals, administrative agencies, and in the defense of conflicts short of the necessity for costly and arduous litigation for business enterprises across the United States. Marla maintains active licenses in Louisiana, the District of Columbia, Maryland and Tennessee.
