Spencer Barrett is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations. Spencer was involved in numerous organizations and activities to benefit the campus community and to grow and learn about himself and the world.During his last three years, Spencer served as an Orientation, Colonel Camp and New Student Days Leader to aid incoming freshmen and family members with transitioning to college. For his work, Spencer was honored with the National Orientation Director’s Association Student Leadership Award in 2012. He was named the Orientation Leader of the Year for Eastern Kentucky University in 2012.Spencer spent three years working in the Eastern Kentucky University Academic Advising Office. During this time, Spencer perfected his customer service skills and collaborated with university departments to provide a positive learning environment for current students.Involvement-wise, Spencer serves as the Public Relations Officer in the Eastern Kentucky University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. He also served as the head of publicity for Power of Maroon Day, a university and community celebration of EKU.Spencer served as the social media intern for Eastern Kentucky University helping to maintain an online presence for his university across a variety of platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr.Spencer was named one of the Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities in 2013.Currently, Spencer serves as the Community Engagement Analyst at A&W Restaurants, Inc. helping to cultivate the brand's online networks, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat.
