I am part of the Machine Learning Infrastructure team at Avant, where I design, write, and maintain software that automates the development of machine learning models and their deployment to production systems. Prior to that, I performed research in theoretical mathematics at the University of Illinois at Chicago for six years. My bachelor's degree is in Industrial Engineering, and I have years of experience teaching high school mathematics.My skills include:- Mathematics, Statistics, and Programming: I did research in theoretical mathematics, and I have taught math at all levels from high school to advanced graduate-level courses. I am highly proficient in R as a general-purpose programming language, and I have some experience working in Python and Ruby. In April 2009, I took the GRE Math Subject Test, and obtained a (rescaled) score of 790 (84th percentile).- Analysis and Problem Solving: As a mathematician, I have an intuitive understanding of interactions in complex systems. My doctoral thesis is in number theory - it is a thematic exploration of questions related to the distribution of prime numbers. As an engineer, I collaborate with the product and risk teams to develop effective and flexible solutions to technical problems, using a mix of techniques from engineering, product/project management, and computer science.
