Give me a dirty penny any day. I take pride in making it shine. Someone once asked me if I was looking for the next shiny penny in my career. To the contrary, I replied. Shiny pennies don't need me. I prefer a dirty, sticky, ugly penny: When large organizations are looking for transformational change -- to implement new or refine existing processes, systems, culture -- I get excited! I love to roll up my sleeves and add shimmer to a situation that needed a fresh approach. I energize large groups of of diverse opinions (often pronounced 'people who don't get along') and mobilize them toward common goals. We tweak processes, we update systems, and we change thinking. A few examples...Turned around the complaint ratings for a Fortune 300 insurance company. The results were so dramatic, The Better Business Bureau invited me to sit on their Board of Directors, where I was elected an Officer. Led the development of a new technology product line for a $35B company. The product exceeded sales goals by 40% and sparked a new industry around data analytics to combat shoplifting at Tier 1 retailers.I'm currently painting a culture and processes to improve the internal experience with IT services... all from a blank canvas.
