As Director of People Business Partnership, Gray oversees the HRBP function at Artsy. His team of Business Partners own employee relations, performance & talent management, executive & manager coaching, strategic org planning & design, change management, and more for their client groups. Gray also acts as a senior HRBP managing product, operations, and marketing client groups. Previously, Gray has held numerous People Ops leadership and generalist roles. He has managed the 10+ person People Team and reported to the CEO twice as mat leave cover, and over time he's developed specialized knowledge in compensation, benefits management, HR operations, international HR compliance, visas and immigration, recruiting operations and strategy, candidate management, negotiation, and large-scale HR software implementation. Gray has been a guest lecturer for Santa Clara University and spoken at industry events hosted by Glassdoor, Lattice, Sequoia, and other companies. He leads a professional networking & discussion group for People and HR leaders at small- to mid-sized NY tech companies, and volunteers with organizations promoting racial equity in tech such as 81cents. He's taught English in China, graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University, and won an award for his senior thesis on office architecture and work theory.
