After completing a double degree in Information Technology and Exercise Science at Griffith University, Gold Coast Australia, Alex worked as a Delphi/SQL programmer for a number of years before moving into network administration and operations. After 4 years of network administration, operations and support roles in both Australia and Canada, Alex joined Anka Systems in Virginia, USA, where he worked as a support specialist for EyeRoute, the worlds first ophthalmology image management system. After 4 years at Anka Systems/Topcon Medical Systems Alex left his position as EyeRoute technical support supervisor to join the healthcare division at TSPi as the Director of IT. At TSPi Alex helped develop, sell, deploy and manage private cloud computing systems for the healthcare industry. In early 2011 Alex joined Apixio as their IT Operations Manager and in 2014 became their Director of Operations. At Apixio Alex manages both their in-house IT infrastructure as well as their cloud based test, staging and production environments. Apixio is the industry leader in big-data health care analytics and leverages technologies such as hadoop, cassandra, redis, ansible and elasticsearch; for which Alex is responsible for deployment, configuration and maintenance.
