Alex Bluestone helps organisations across sectors to hone communications strategies and advance evidence-based policy interventions to solve the world's most pressing problems. Previously, he has fulfilled issue-focused positions at the White House, the Clinton Global Initiative, the St. Louis Mayor's Office, and several smaller, issue-focused NGO’s. Recently, he has led corporate and public affairs efforts to help FTSE 100 and other blue-chips better engage stakeholders and the communities in which they operate on emerging issues, like ESG. He is a political scientist, having co-authored an article and a catalogue of research relating to social justice, descriptive representation, and racial-bias in police departments in 2014. A second article -- and the focus of his postgraduate dissertation -- explores the contours of American political polarisation and the social psychological determinants of evaluating policy options in the voting booth. He has also authored commentary on current events and political happenings. All of these experiences have further solidified his expertise and passion for advancing solutions to pressing social issues like climate change, development and public health. Whether through short-form documentary production, writing and building multi-party support for global health declarations, or day-to-day strategic guidance, Alex works to creatively tackle complex, interdisciplinary issues. He holds a BA in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis and earned a Master in Public Administration (MPA) and Public and Social Policy at the London School of Economics. At LSE, he served as Principal of Cognoscere Consulting at the London School of Economics and established the firm's public sector practice in 2019.
