Curator, Fossil Reptiles
The University of Adelaide is situated in South Australia and provides leading academic programs via coursework and research opportunities. Ranked in the top 1% of universities globally, our graduates make an impact on the world.
Marc is an Evolutionary Biolgist currently based in Australia at The University of Adelaide. His research encompasses the macroevolution of amphibians and reptiles but focuses on specific topics such as feeding, function, biogeography, and systematics. This work has involved a number of techniques (e.g., geometric morphometrics, Multi-body Dynamics Analysis, Finite Element Analysis, cladistics). This multi-disciplinary approach to some extent reflects the influence of his undergraduate degree which involved a diverse range of course units (e.g., vertebrate palaeontology, palaeoanthropology, sedimentology, climate change, molecular biology, evolutionary ecology, and population genetics).Example publications:- Jones MEH, Anderson CL, Hipsley CA, Müller J, Evans SE, Schoch R. 2013. Integration of molecules and new fossils supports a Triassic origin for Lepidosauria (lizards, snakes, and tuatara).
