I have 26 years of experience in IT leadership with an emphasis in program/project management, systems engineering, cybersecurity, business continuity/disaster recovery, ITIL and other IT governance disciplines.Currently, I am a Senior Manager leading IT Security, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity for ALDI, Inc. in Batavia, IL.Formerly, I was an IT Director for OfficeMax leading the Virtualization, Intel platforms, Microsoft Server Technologies, Messaging, and Disaster Recovery teams. I hold current certifications in security (CISSP, CEH, CNDA, Security+), business continuity and disaster recovery (CBCP), National Incident Management/Incident Command System from DHS/FEMA (NIMS/ICS), and others. I have DoD Information Assurance certifications and have been published numerous times in security, business continuity, and disaster recovery.I am an IT Senior Chief in the U.S. Navy Reserve and the Senior Enlisted Leader of a 180-member joint unit and former Senior Enlisted Leader for two Maritime Domain Awareness units in Chicago and Norfolk that specialized in the safety of merchant vessels and shipping in the Middle East area of operations. From February through August 2015, I was on active duty as the lead engineer on the Navy’s eSailor initiative. This program provides tablets and a secure WLAN for thousands of recruits annually at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL. In June 2014, I completed a one-year mobilization with Special Operations Joint Task Force-Afghanistan/NATO Special Operations Component Command-Afghanistan as the Senior Enlisted Leader of the Combined Joint Command, Control, Communications and Computers directorate.Until 2012 DoD budget cuts, I was an instructor for Global Maritime and Transportation School at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY. I taught a Maritime Domain Awareness and Command & Control course that included battle space management, communications, and networking to the U.S. and allied Navies.
