Zymo Research Corp. is a privately held company based in Irvine, California, USA. Since its inception in 1994 it has been serving the academic and biopharmaceutical scientific communities by providing DNA and RNA purification products. Their goal is to help scientists reduce time in the lab by eliminating steps and making the entire DNA/RNA extraction process simpler and faster. In addition to the nucleic acid purification products, Zymo Research also offers genetic, epigenetic and transcriptome analysis services. Sandy Sanchez’s successful work in development and as a land-use advocate has given her a unique understanding of how to get developments approved in California. She has overseen development and construction of numerous residential, commercial and master-planned developments. Her work with local, state, and federal officials, and strategic positioning with stakeholder groups and coalition building has resulted in saving developers millions of dollars by reducing impact fees and eliminating regulatory barriers for receipt of entitlements. Since 2014, she has served as Community Development Director for FivePoint, where she plays a key role in the company’s efforts to develop the master-planned, Newhall Ranch community. Before that, she served for nearly four years as Director of Government Affairs for the Los Angeles/Ventura Chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California. There she advocated for pro-development policies with elected officials and senior government officials throughout the region and served on numerous local government committees and task forces. Before moving into government advocacy, Sanchez worked for a number of developers and homebuilders, including Brookfield Homes, O&S Holdings, DR Horton, and Watson Land Company. Her accomplishments included obtaining project entitlements for a 240-acre, master-planned mixed-use development; managing development for single-family subdivisions and multifamily projects; and constructing warehouses and numerous tenant improvements. Sanchez currently serves on the Board of the Los Angeles County Business Federation, Valley Industry and Commerce Association, Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the College of the Canyons Construction Advisory Committee.
