Jan Pieterse is Head of Corporate Distribution & LDI Solutions at Western Asset Management Company, LLC. He has more than 24 years of experience in the fixed-income markets and has been with Western Asset since 2006. In his role at Western Asset, Mr. Pieterse’s team is responsible for the Firm’s $74.2 billion Liability Driven Investing program including custom solutions, intellectual capital and overall thought leadership. Additionally, his team is responsible for the Firm’s $63.4 billion in corporate client relationships and associated AUM spread across defined benefit, defined contribution, corporate cash and VEBA assets. Previously, Mr. Pieterse was head of Consultant Relationships & Outsourced CIO at Western Asset, and he is a member of the Pasadena Management Committee and the Firm’s Strategy Committee. Before joining the Firm, Mr. Pieterse held several positions at WestLB Mellon Asset Management, including Director of Client Service, Portfolio Manager and High-Yield Analyst. Before his positions at WestLB Mellon, he was a Consulting Business Analyst at Hewitt Associates. Mr. Pieterse holds an MBA from Southeastern Louisiana University, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University, and a Bachelor of Common Law from the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
