Lu was born in Champaign, Illinois and raised in Corvallis, Oregon where he met and married his high school sweetheart Jennifer. Lu attended the Air Force Academy, flew on the E-3 AWACS out of Tinker AFB, Oklahoma and Geilenkirchen NATO Air Base. After his military service ended in 2002, Lu played basketball in Germany, and established his own basketball camp, the BIBC, in Heerlen, The Netherlands. In 2004 Lu was injured and rejoined the traditional work force as EVP of Technical Sales for Sherpaq Mobile Products. At Sherpaq, he designed mobile voice, video and data systems for Army Intelligence, the SACEUR communications team, the SecDef communications team and the Department of Health and Human Services. Prior to Verimatrix, Lu was the Co-Founder and President of CSI Digital, a long-standing Verimatrix partner and systems integration company. CSI Digital was sold in July of 2014. Lu and Jennifer have two sons, ages 21 and 14. In his spare time, he coaches high school spring and fall basketball and is passionate about helping youth learn life lessons as well as achieve success through sports. Lu loves to BBQ and entertain, and is an avid golfer.
