Peter McKay is a proven results-oriented, revenue-driving executive leader managing sales, partnership and delivery challenges at VMWare. He has a passion for creating highly-effective sales strategies and ensuring that teams are correctly aligned, incented and managed to drive optimal performance and results. With extensive experience in growing start-ups from early-stage to acquisition as well as in driving leading global technology companies through inflection points and to their next stage, Peter combines the best of proven techniques with an agile, start-up “get it done” mindset. He is a results-oriented, decisive leader with proven success in new market identification and strategic market positioning for emerging to multimillion-dollar technology organizations. He has a proven track record of increasing sales and growing bottom lines while spearheading operational improvements to drive productivity and reduce costs across a variety of successful, growth companies. Peter joined VMWare through the Desktone acquisition in 2013 and currently is Senior Vice President, Americas Sales with responsibility for all revenue-related activities across North, Central and South America. Since the acquisition of Desktone from VMware he has been the VP Enterprise Sales for North America and GM of the DaaS business (formally Desktone) Worldwide. Before the acquisition, Peter was President and CEO of Desktone, Inc. from 2010 to October 2013. Desktone was a venture-backed company that launched a DaaS platform and achieved significant revenue growth from its over 650 customers in more than 15 countries around the globe. Serving as President and CEO of Watchfire from 2001 through its acquisition by IBM in July 2007, Peter remained at IBM as VP-IBM Software Group through July 2008.
