I have always been fascinated by what makes people and companies successful. Success is something that many chase and it can often remain elusive. In my career so far I have worked with numerous, award winning, high growth companies and this has certainly provided me with some insights into what it takes to make growth happen. It has also been my good fortune to spend time working outside the UK and Europe and this has enabled me to understand what it takes to do business in China, the Middle East, South East Asia, Australia and America. I gained a significant understanding of the practices, protocols and business philosophies needed to make a business successful in a different culture. The other great blessing on my travels being that I have made some great friends along the way. Working in Venture Capital was also absorbing, spending time with start-ups to see what worked for them (and what didn't), assessing hundreds of business plans; the good, the bad and the ugly. I witnessed the strategies business leaders and their organisations were following on the road to success (or for some, failure). I have coached and mentored business owners and directors as they endeavoured to realise their dreams. There was certainly joy and tears along the way, but importantly, fantastic learning for me.
