Chris Maritato leads the Business Technology organization as Vice President at Sonic Automotive, a Fortune 300 Corporation and among the largest automotive retailers in the United States. Sonic Automotive operates over 100 dealerships spread across 14 states and 25 major metropolitan markets, as well as having approximately 25 different automotive brands with the majority of dealerships being luxury and import brands. His strategic strength and experience in technical operations management has guided Sonic to build a stronger and palatable foundation, vision, strategy and long-range development of information system solutions that not only capture new technologies in the automotive vertical, but capitalized on rapid changes through IT transformation to meet business demands. He is a member of the technology steering committee and offers expertise in identifying and defining business problems, developing solutions through creative reengineering and maximizing profitability through the strategic application of technology and enterprise data initiatives. Maritato has more than 25 years of experience in information systems and held executive management positions for multi-billion dollar financial service, insurance and retail fortune 100 and 300 organizations with extensive knowledge developing large-scale infrastructures and having a solid performance in operational efficiencies across diverse functional organizations, which included the Americas, the European Community and Asia/Pacific regions. He was one of 25 winners by CIO Magazine to receive the CIO Ones to Watch Award.
