I'm currently a senior procurement specialist at Solar Turbines located in San Diego, California and am responsible for all IT hardware, software, and professional service consultants. Solar Turbines, a division of Caterpillar, manufactures and services turbine engines, generators, and compressors for the power generation and the oil & gas industry. As a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, I'm highly focused on lean, continuous improvement, supplier quality and excellence in all aspects of operational management. I've also received specialized lean six sigma training from Carpenter Technology Specialty Alloys, Northrop Grumman Space Division, Kyocera International, and the Naval Air Rework Facility North Island (San Diego). With over twenty-five years in manufacturing operations/supply chain, I've attained a solid background in government procurement, master scheduling of large turbine aircraft engines, scheduling and planning of complex assemblies and detail parts, and international procurement. I've traveled frequently to Japan, China, Singapore, and Mexico to negotiate long-term agreements, and perform supplier assessments. Education is an integral part of my life, I develop courses and teach Government Contract Management, Intellectual Property & Licensing, Sustainability, and Supply Management at San Diego State University Extended Studies, and the University California San Diego Extension . I have extensive experience providing subject matter expert services to major consulting groups and investment analysts. My passion is to take processes and make them more efficient.
