I am the Program Director for Recreational Sports and Services (RSS) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. In short, I coordinate the administration, organization, and assessment of RSS programs. I am the administrator for the RSS sport club program and the advisor of record for nearly thirty sport clubs. In addition to directly supervising three full-time staff members and part-time student employees, I provide direction for our departmental marketing strategy and serve as the lead for the department's assessment initiatives. Previously, I was the Coordinator of Competitive Sports at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I was responsible for the administration, development, organization, planning, and evaluation of an intramural sports program and sports club program. In addition to managing the intramural program and advising over thirty sport clubs, I supervised two graduate assistants and twenty student staff members. I also collaborated with campus partners in Student Affairs and participated on Divisional and University committees. Prior to SIU Carbondale, I was the Assistant Coordinator for Intramural Sports at Tennessee Tech University. In addition to coordinating and managing nightly intramural activities, I scheduled leagues and tournaments, designed and implemented training methods for student staff, and developed and implemented program assessment initiatives. I researched and implemented marketing initiatives for intramural sports. Additionally, I collaborated with the Coordinator of Intramural Sports on fiscal and resource management. Before my full-time professional experiences in collegiate recreation, I was the Club FIT Program Coordinator for two Club sites of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley. I planned, delivered, and evaluated grant funded physical education initiatives. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Educational Administration at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I have earned three collegiate degrees: an MS in Recreation and Sport Management from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, an MS in Sport Studies from Miami University of Ohio, and a BA in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
