Along with my brother, John P. Horning, I am a 3rd generation family member to lead Shorewest Realtors, Wisconsin’s Largest Home Seller ™. This includes the Shorewest Family of Companies – Shorewest Realtors, Heritage Title Services, Wisconsin Mortgage Corporation, Shorewest Insurance, and Shorewest Real Estate Institute.I attended St. Joseph school in Wauwatosa and Marquette University High School. By my sophomore year I spent the summer months as a courier for Wauwatosa Realty (Shorewest Realtors was previously known as) delivering files and providing maintenance at all the office locations. After graduating from Marquette University in 1991 with a degree in Business Administration, I began working full-time. Soon after I founded and managed the Information Technology Department. After several years, I took over the role of Vice President and eventually was named President in 2002, taking the role my father, John E. Horning, had held. Under our leadership, the company has grown to 1000 sales professionals, 300 staff members and 23 locations throughout Wisconsin.Throughout my career, I have been involved in various organizations within real estate. I currently serve on the Vice Chairman Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, President of Metro MLS, and Past Chairman of the MLS Policy Forum for the National Association of Realtors. I am also the past Chairman of The Realty Alliance and an Honorary Board member for LISC in Milwaukee.Outside of the industry, I am currently on the Board of Directors of Marquette University High School and Chairman of the MUHS Alumni Board. Previously, I served six years on the Pewaukee Village Board and four years on the CDBG Board in Waukesha County.In my personal time, I enjoy boating, gardening, and spending time with my family up north. I also drive the Shorewest Firetruck in holiday parades and festivals, and enjoy meeting families in the communities Shorewest proudly serves.
