Shane Company or Shane Co. is a privately owned jeweler in the United States.

CAREER: As the fourth generation in a family of jewelers, my passion for the retail jewelry industry runs through my veins. However, it’s not the jewelry that makes me tick—it’s the people. I take pride in sharing my knowledge with others and readily admitting what I don't know. As president of Shane Co., I am the cultural champion for the company. My job is to lead the team, nurture a stellar work culture and chart my vision to ensure stability and continual growth for the company and its employees. I live our culture and ensure that Shane Co. employees are a cultural fit that will allow us to celebrate success and continue being a proud employer, with proud employees, for generations to come. PHILOSOPHY: I believe our people and culture set us apart from any other jeweler and any other retailer. I have an open-door policy—anyone at the Home Office can, and does, walk into my office, which I share with my father, Tom, at any time to discuss any topic. Our store teams also reach out on a daily basis to discuss issues both large and small. At Shane Co., we believe in what some may consider an “upside-down” organizational chart. Our customers are truly at the top—they are the boss. They are the reason we are in business, and we never forget that. A customer’s experience and their perception of us are the pieces that make or break us. That’s why everyone in the company spends plenty of time on our sales floor. Shane Co. operates on a wristwatch, rather than a calendar. We have a fast-paced, very entrepreneurial office environment, and our stores are run the same way. We hardly have any “black and white” rules in our organization. We believe in surrounding ourselves with people smarter than we are, at all levels, in our Home Office and in our stores. Our team members are encouraged to think, not to follow orders or give canned sales pitches. We also believe in a work-life balance. The Shane Co. team works hard, but also plays hard.
