News Anchor and Reporter
Saga owns radio stations in 24 diverse markets ranging from Milwaukee and Columbus to Portland, Maine and Bellingham, Washington.
I've been involved with the radio industry since January 2002 when I cracked my first mic -- WGBK Glenview/Northbrook. I continued pursuing the entertainment facet of radio through my first year and a half of college, when I also began to do some reporting for Western Illinois University's NPR affiliate. From there I was hooked. The news industry is where I want to be. There's such a variety of things to do and cover, so many people you can meet and so many things you can learn... all while being pressured to get the information right, and get it out fast. It's a perfect combination. I'm the news director/brand manager of Newsradio 1240 and 107.5 FM WTAX, Springfield's leading news/talk station. I oversee programming, news production and imaging on the station. It's a LOT of work, but it's equally as rewarding. Specialties: State government/politics, city government/politics, human interest feature writing, severe weather coverage, live anchoring, live interviewing, production (specifically audiovault, adobe audition/cooledit, voxpro and a host of others)
