ResearchGate is a professional network for scientists and researchers. It started when two researchers discovered first-hand that collaborating with a friend or colleague on the other side of the world was no easy task. Founded in 2008 by physicians Dr. Ijad Madisch and Dr. S_ren Hofmayer, and computer scientist Horst Fickenscher, ResearchGate today has more than 13 million members. Our international team of 300 people is based in the vibrant start-up capital Berlin. ResearchGate's mission is to connect the world of science and make research open to all.

My passion is in working with teams that leverage a data-centric approach to lay the foundation for scalable, predictable growth on a global level. I'm a founding member of ResearchGate, the world's largest network for scientists with over 20 million users. An MD PhD by training, I helped build ResearchGate’s international sales team from the ground up and now head its global business development efforts. In 2008 and 2009, I was one of the first investors in ResearchGate and now support a number of start-ups in the science and healthcare space as an investor and strategic advisor in their growth and monetization efforts. I am a grateful alumnus of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation, the University of Hannover and Harvard Medical School. Originally from Berlin, Germany, I now live on an island in beautiful British Columbia with my family where I'm finding peace of mind and a true sense of community.
