ResearchGate is a professional network for scientists and researchers. It started when two researchers discovered first-hand that collaborating with a friend or colleague on the other side of the world was no easy task. Founded in 2008 by physicians Dr. Ijad Madisch and Dr. S_ren Hofmayer, and computer scientist Horst Fickenscher, ResearchGate today has more than 13 million members. Our international team of 300 people is based in the vibrant start-up capital Berlin. ResearchGate's mission is to connect the world of science and make research open to all.

The course of my life has paralleled the rise of the Web, and I continue to be fascinated and driven by the way it empowers people to unleash the power of information for good. Since co-founding ResearchGate in 2007, my passion and life’s work has been to use technology to translate our vision of a connected world of science into a practical, useful reality for millions of users. At the heart of our mission is our dedication to deliver and grow a product that both changes the way science is conducted and that deeply resonates with the people who use it. This can only be achieved with talented, committed people working together towards a common goal, unified by a shared vision.
