Prison Fellowship

Prison Fellowship trains and inspires churches and communities inside and outside of prison to support the restoration of those affected by incarceration. We equip correctional leaders, volunteers, and incarcerated men and women to make prisons more rehabilitative places; we advocate for a more restorative criminal justice system; and we collaborate with churches and local service providers to support former prisoners, their families, and their communities. Prison Fellowship is a national, nonprofit organization founded in 1976 by former Nixon aide Charles Colson. Colson was incarcerated for Watergate-related charges and could not forget those he had left behind prison walls. He launched Prison Fellowship to give prisoners the opportunity to experience the radically transforming power of Christ that he had already experienced.

I spent the majority of my life in food service as a French trained owner/chef of restaurants. Alcohol and drugs destroyed and took everything from me. After countless detox centers , 5 Treatment centers and a prison sentence I was at a place where I didn't want to live any more but was afraid to die. That is where Jesus Christ met me and we became friends . Today , I share with others how he has loved me and restored me and transformed me and my life . He called me , and today I use all those times when I was lost and hurting, the very worst of times in my life as evidence of what he can do in anyone's life if they will invite Him in. He has turned the worst times in my life into my biggest assets in the work I do for Him. I founded The Living Harvest, Inc.,which has been organized for the purpose of providing transitional housing for men that are re-entering society after incarceration. This program will target the formerly incarcerated , specifically , and will offer them housing and basic life needs alongside job and life skills training and 12-step Christian recovery services. Additional support programs may be offered , as needed. The ultimate goal of the organization is to help restore these men to self-sufficiency and wholeness as contributing members of society and to lead them into a relationship with Jesus Christ .
