For six years, I worked in television news as an Anchor/Reporter. Currently, I am a Media Relations Coordinator for Nebraska Medicine, the most esteemed academic medical system in the region. The 661 licensed hospital bed facility has been named the #1 hospital in Nebraska by U.S. News and World Report. For three straight years, Becker’s Hospital Review included it on their list of the "100 Great Hospitals in America." Nebraska Medicine treated three Ebola patients and is home to one of the most reputable and well-known organ transplant programs in the country, performing thousands of heart, liver, kidney, pancreas, intestinal and lung transplants. It's also a nationally recognized Level 1 trauma center, providing 24/7 care to adult and pediatric patients. I have a strong understanding of media relations and news operations, which allows me to proactively pitch stories to local and national media outlets in a time-sensitive manner. I coordinate interviews with patients, physicians, nurses and staff; research, write and distribute press releases and blogs; and organize press conferences and events while also live-tweeting from them. Thanks to my background in broadcasting, I'm able to produce, shoot and edit videos. I also manage and create content for all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube. I'm proven to work effectively in high-pressure situations with hospital executives, attorneys and emergency preparedness teams to diffuse potential crises. My strong communication skills allow me to serve as hospital spokesperson when necessary. I'm a creative self-starter who’s very driven, able to multi-task and works well with others.
