More than twenty years of experience in the stock market and professional money management coinciding with one of the most tumultuous business environments ever (1999 net stock bubble, 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks, the Great Recession in the late 2000s) has given me a great deal of perspective on business and life. In fact, I was at the top of the World Trade Center just months before it went down. As a stock analyst, I interviewed many senior management teams, visited plants, distribution centers and corporate offices. I observed wonderful successes and spectacular failures, learning much from both of their ways (to paraphrase a Jimmy Buffett song line). As a Chief Operating Officer of a seed company, I literally got dirty in the fields and spent long office hours for many months to do my part to turn losses into profits and become a success in an industry I originally knew very little about. These experiences and others have helped me to view each business as an owner. Now, I finally own my own business, Backflip, along with my 2 excellent partners John Shoemaker and Ryan Freng. It wasn’t enough for me to marry a creative, now I work with many. : ) As business director of our creative marketing studio, I get to manage and operate a business full of multi-faceted and talented creatives that produce award-winning content.
