I graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. degree in public relations, Spanish and International studies in May 2012. During the summer of 2012, I moved to New York City to pursue a career in public relations. I started my professional career with a start-up PR agency called SpecOps Communications where I have had the opportunity to be involved in hands on experience from the very beginning pitching to the media, securing coverage for SpecOps' clients and working closely with clients to support their brand initiatives with high impact PR campaigns. In April 2013, I was promoted to Account Executive where I began working closely with our digital and consumer accounts to increase brand awareness, drive website traffic and secure media coverage across all verticals. Most recently, I assisted in the media strategy and implementation of National Underwear Day in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Largest Gathering of People in Their Underwear.At Penn State, I was selected as one of two Penn State students to work with Penn State Athletics and Chevrolet. Together with another intern, we experienced the opportunity to handle social media such as Twitter, Foursquare, YouTube and blogs to interact with fans and gain a variety of followers under the sponsorship of Chevrolet.As an intern with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association I honed my writing and communications skills and gained valuable experience working in a fast-paced sports environment in professional baseball. I created MLBPAA's first online advertising campaign increasing traffic to the MLBPAA's website, which has sparked a recent interest in online and digital advertising.
