I am a well presented, highly personable and efficient bartender, trainer and consultant with an ability to work independently in a changing and multi-tasking environment with numerous and competing deadlines. I have a strong customer service orientation and delivery focus as well as an active commitment to continuous improvement and quality standards. I also exude excellent communication skills and I am comfortable working in a fast paced, hands-on, growth orientated work environment. My beverage, cocktail and event knowledge is rivaled with the best in South Africa and my international experience is proof of my commitment and service to the Hospitality Industry. In my 13 years of service industry experience, I have worked all over the world, including African countries including but not limited to, Uganda, Namibia, Ghana, Zambia, Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia and Angola and have received training from some of the world’s best, specifically during my working experience in New York and Florida. I currently frequently travel the world, representing South Africa, competing in international cocktail competitions organized by brands and societies, most recently, March 2014, in Trinidad and Tobago for the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge. In June 2013, in Cognac, France for the prestigious Gin Connoisseur Program, also in September 2012, in Tequila, Mexico with the Tahona Society and in Mauritius with Pink Pigeon Rum. I have been involved in every aspect of successful bar operation, from being a barback to owning and operating my own successful outlet called Tod & Copper Prohibition Bar. I have successfully trained over a 1000 bartenders for institutions such as, but not limited to, Sun International, Protea Hotels, Damelin College, Varsity College, The International Hotel School, Starwood Hotel Group, Tsogo Sun, Master Bartender Academy, Thirst Bar Academy and Diageo Reserve Brand Portfolio.
