Dennis has more than 35 years of experience organizing and leading teams to invest and manage upstream and midstream, oil field services and related infrastructure investments. His extensive operating experience in the U.S. as well as Asia, Africa, and Europe has led to solid relationships in the energy community where he advises on oil and gas markets, acquisitions and restructurings of energy assets, market conditions and the structured financing of large and complex energy projects. Prior to joining Huron, Dennis served as the CEO and President of the international subsidiary of one of the largest independent oil and natural gas companies in the United States.Mr. Ulak began his career as an attorney for Northern Natural Gas Pipeline Company where he gained valuable experience in the construction, operation and maintenance of interstate natural gas pipelines. Moving to the E&P and marketing side of the parent company InterNorth, he expanded his focus into the areas of domestic and international oil and gas exploration and production. Mr. Ulak was named President and CEO of EOG Resources-International in 1995 and in less than four years increased the company valuation from $180 million to over $1 billion. During his tenure, the company signed the first onshore production sharing contract in China, established offshore gas production in India in record time and executed a production sharing contract in Trinidad that resulted in a 1 Tcf exploration discovery. Also during this period he led integrated infrastructure development efforts in Qatar (LNG), Mozambique (direct reduction iron) and China (pipeline).In 2000 Mr. Ulak established Selentas Energy Partners, an energy consulting and direct investment firm that focused primarily on domestic exploration opportunities.
