Highgate Hotels, Inc. is a hospitality company which provides guidance through all stages of the hospitality property cycle, from planning and development through recapitalization or disposition.

Robert Lafferty is Vice President of Human Resources and Labor Counsel at Highgate Hotels. Robert joined Highgate in 2011 and has a primary focus in the New York and Boston markets overseeing more than 20 hotels with approximately 5,000 associates. Robert advises ownership and management teams on the obligations under various collective bargaining agreements, the labor implications of the purchase and sale of hotels and serves as lead spokesperson on behalf of management in negotiations to restructure individual hotel operations. Robert is an Employer Trustee on the New York Hotel Trades Council and Hotel Association of New York City Benefit Funds. Robert also serves as member of the Hotel Association of New York City Executive Committee, and was a member of the HANYC Labor Negotiating Committee for the current Industry Wide Agreement (IWA) and Greater Regional Industry Wide Agreement (GRIWA). Prior to joining Highgate, Robert served as Head of Labor Relations and Human Resources for Millennium Hotels and Resorts, overseeing 14 hotels throughout the United States. Before entering the hospitality industry, Robert was an Associate at Spivak Lipton, LLP in New York City from 2003 through 2007 representing both unions and employers in all aspects of labor relations, including serving as counsel in over 200 labor arbitrations. Robert began his legal career in Boston as an Associate at Pyle, Rome, Lichten, Ehrenberg and Liss-Riordan, P.C. Robert is a graduate of Boston College (B.A., 1997) and Boston College Law School (J.D., 2000, cum laude).
