Michael Hodges is currently serving the University of Hawaii IT community as the manager of the Enterprise Middleware and Identity and Access Management team, among other roles. The University of Hawaii System is the sole provider of all of the public higher education in Hawaii through its 10 campuses and 5 education centers on 6 islands. Beginning in early 2011 Michael's activities have included the fostering of a system-wide IT community of practice, initially centered on developing and piloting emerging authorization and authentication technologies and expanding over time to include the sharing of best practices between the disparate, geographically dispersed members of the UH IT community. From 2002 through 2016 Michael was a commissioner for the the University of Hawaii President’s Commission on the Status of Women, which is committed to the support, well-being, development, and advancement of all University women. The Commission actively promotes a working and learning environment free of sexism and discrimination through policy, advocacy and education.
