Elizabeth City is located in Northeastern North Carolina on the Intrascoastal Waterway, halfway between Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks. Known as the "Harbor of Hospitality(r)," the city has six National Register Historic Districts and is home to the Museum of the Albemarle, The Center at Arts of the Albemarle, Elizabeth City State University Planetarium, Port Discover Hands-on Science Center and the largest U.S. Coast Guard base in the Continental United States.

Over 40 years of experience in law and education-related fields. Vast experience in organizational oversight and policymaking. Equity and inclusion policy and implementation are also great strengths. Sensitivity and skillful in communicating with and working with persons of diverse backgrounds and successful in building consensus among diverse groups. I believe that anyone can change their current circumstances by practicing quantum leadership and taking full responsibility for navigating through and playing the game of life. The ability to communicate with persons of all cultures is essential to the evolution of our species and the achievement of a shared planet. My career includes a 20 year law practice, 25 years as a professor (economics and law), Six years as a policymaker (member and board chair of a university board of trustees), and president of a non-profit that produced housing for over twenty-four thousand families in North Carolina and Virginia, Founder, and president of the QLife Center (teaching leadership to people in the US and abroad) I am a licensed attorney that respects everyone's culture and contribution to our planet.
