I am in the process of changing careers to become a Spanish teacher. In my law practice, I focused on investment management matters, primarily concerning private funds. I worked with hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds and unregistered traditional funds, representing managers with respect to fund formation, distribution and compliance issues. I have also represented both insurance companies and fund sponsors with respect to privately placed and offshore variable insurance products. As a former senior private fund policy adviser at the SEC, I have significant experience advising on all aspects of legal and regulatory policy related to private funds, including Dodd-Frank Title IV, the Volcker Rule, and the European Union Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive, among others.
