Vice President, Marketing and Business Operations
Concern Worldwide is a nonprofit organization that is an international humanitarian organisation dedicated to tackling poverty and suffering in the poorest countries.
Finding a balance for my analytical left-brain and creative right-brain has been a consistent internal struggle, but one I've come to embrace. During my time studying at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business, I also spent four years in a touring band playing over 125 shows all across the country. Combining the two skill sets allowed me to find success in the music industry as a self-managed musician. I was able to help facilitate a publishing deal with Hype Music (a Viacom company) leading to placements on MTV, CBS, A&E, and more, as well as a distribution deal with mall retailer, Hot Topic, resulting in one of the band's album's on the shelves of over 35 retail stores along the east coast. As the Event Production Curator at Sports Backers, I'm able to continue this balance of business and creative. While updating the overall "look and feel" of nationally recognized events, by creating stimulating visual impact, curated entertainment programs, and enhanced participant touch-points, I also need to remain budget conscience, and meet strict deadlines in order to lead projects to success.
