Melanie joined Berkshire Hathaway BHHS Yost and Little Realty in September 2022. She is looking forward to combining her love of the Greensboro community, in depth personal connections, superb organizational skills and passion to this new role as a Broker/REALTOR. In July 2020, Melanie Soles (Soles Consulting LLC), added J.Hilburn, a custom menswear lifestyle brand, to her business platform. In 2014, Melanie Soles was the District Sales Director and Personal Stylist with the Carlisle Collection, based in NYC. Over the past eight years, Melanie has served in a variety of management roles with Carlisle, as well as continuing her role as a Personal Stylist in Greensboro. Melanie began her Carlisle career in 1996 as a Sales Consultant, and was quickly a national top seller. She was appointed to various boards and task forces within Carlisle. In addition, Melanie is the owner of several niche businesses. The Social Butterfly LLC offers engraved writing papers of the finest quality from one of the country's oldest hand engravers, Arzberger Engravers of Charlotte, NC. Melanie was a business developer and founding stylist for Rondina New York, offering knit designs for women. Melanie was building a national sales team when the company abruptly closed it doors in August 2014. From 2009 -2013, Melanie helped lead the N.C. Dept. of Cultural Resources as Chief Deputy Secretary, overseeing legislative and policy direction for the Department, serving as the top advisor to the Secretary. Prior to her appointment in state government, Melanie was a seasoned and reputable civic fundraiser, leader and board chair, helping such initiatives in Greensboro as: Comm. Foundation of Greensboro, Downtown Greensboro Inc., Arts Greensboro, Preservation Greensboro, Jr. League of Greensboro, Greensboro Day School, Elon University and Guilford College. Melanie was the initiator and lead fundraiser for the development of the Edible Schoolyard, an Alice Waters' Chez Panisse affiliated garden program at the GCM. Melanie currently serves on the N.C. Museum of Art Society Board.
