Construction Engineer

Brisbane City Council is a government administration which located in Brisbane, Qld.

l am a graduate of QUT with a degree in engineering majoring in civil and environmental. As an undergraduate i was employed full time for John Holland Group constructing the Merrimac waste water treatment plant and later for Moreton Bay Regional Council in their waste management division. In my final year of study I completed my Thesis on the impacts the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme would have on the Councils landfills running through several alternative scenarios for waste management practices. After Graduating I continued to work for Moreton Bay Councils Waste Management division as a site engineer. During 2013 I worked for SunWater as a Construction Engineer in the Project Delivery division. I was based on site at Wandoan on the Wooleebee Creek to Glebe Weir Pipeline project. I have served in the army reserves since 2012 and have been commissioned as a lieutenant. I have taken part in major Brigade level exercises as a Troop commander and engineering subject matter expert advising commanders on engineering issues and capabilities. I have also been employed on operations within Australia as a Search Adviser and Watchkeeper. My role within ITS involved estimation and tendering of water and sewer projects, project management of small works packages up to approx. 1.5M. I oversaw and managed 2 internal and 2 subcontracted pipe laying crews. Recently I have been employed by Brisbane City Council Landfill remediation section managing and estimating remediation works on closed landfill sites around Brisbane. As a younger engineer I was eager to increase my field and technical knowledge of engineering and focused my career within the construction industry. Over the last 8 years I have been focused on gaining enough experience and attending professional development courses and have achieve my goal of becoming a professional engineer and have obtained registered professional engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status.
