Senior Associate Scientist, Immunology and Inflammation

A Research Biologist with laboratory management experience in both Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Clinical Trial Monitoring environments. Scientifically my key expertise is in Cell Biology and Immunology research and the ability to apply Flow Cytometry (FACS) concepts to activities in research studies, assay development, drug discovery and viral immunotherapies. Currently I am part of the Immuno-oncology effort at MedImmune, an Astra Zeneca company, specializing in flow cytometry assay development but also perform a range of immunology assays and support in-vivo studies. I enjoy mentoring scientists, have an ability to clearly communicate concepts and have served on multidiscipline project teams and CRADAs. I hold patents in anti-inflammatory/anti-fungal drug discovery, the identification of novel stem cell populations and have immunology, flow cytometry and molecular biology based publications.  *Manage Research, Assay Development, FACS and Clinical laboratories  *Design, develop and troubleshoot FACS and ECL immunoassays and QC protocols  *Flow Cytometry and MACS expert in cell biology laboratory, apply basic concept to  *Immunology Specialist on multidiscipline project teams, CRADAs  *Blood borne pathogen evaluation, FACS and PCR *Primary culture; stem cells, T-cells and dendritic cells  *Experience with in-vivo models (cancer and stem cell)  *Ability to apply concepts to technical research activities  *Generate and Review SOPs and Research Reports *Clearly communicate safety and laboratory practice  *Maintain current awareness of technical literature
