Ranil Herath has led organizations in start-up, turnaround and growth stage in consumer service, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, and technology sectors in USA, Canada and Asia with a common element of building high performing teams. He has taken culturally, financially and compliance challenged operations from loss making to rapid growth, by focusing on organizational culture and building a strong community with all stakeholders. He led the start-up of the DeVry Education Group’s enterprise level international department from ground up building the platform for marketing and recruiting international students globally for multiple universities. In his previous role as President of DeVry Canada, launching the theme of “Transformation Through Culture Shift” he led the turnaround and rapid growth in Canada. His early career foundation was in pharmaceutical sales, corporate sales, marketing and business development in Asia. He has a strong history working within highly regulated industries across multiple countries and markets. He has experience reporting to a board, working with regulators, government, and community at large. Ranil’s functional experience spans across operations, sales, marketing, international expansions and strategic planning. He has applied these experiences to growing revenue streams, driving operational efficiencies, organizational leadership, turn-around' s, and building strong teams and cultures. He delivered complete organizational/financial turn-around' s in his last three roles within the higher education space. He is a quick study and moves quickly from planning to obtain buy-in and execution to deliver results. Adaptability is Ranil’s core strength where he has demonstrated ability to deliver results with expanding responsibility while transitioning industries, countries, functions and roles. He has served on multiple boards and advisory councils’ and also mentors high potential business leaders in multiple industries.
