Mike joined the AAM team in December 1998 as Director, Corporate Finance. He served in that role until he was appointed Treasurer in September 2002. Mike was named Vice President & Treasurer in May 2004, and was appointed Vice President & Chief Financial Officer in January 2006. Prior to assuming his current position in August 2015, Mike served as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer from December 2011. Mike’s experience in senior corporate positions at AAM includes external reporting, internal controls, global tax planning, financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, capital structure oversight, cash management and investor relations. In addition to his broad financial background, Mike has extensive leadership experience at the operating level that includes overseeing strategy and business development, global operations, managing capital allocation, leading commercial negotiations, executing restructuring activities and supervising the company’s information technology function. In 2021, Mike was appointed to lead AAM's Environmental, Social and Governance initiatives (ESG). Prior to joining AAM, Mike served as Senior Manager in the Detroit office of Ernst & Young LLP, where he started his career in 1986.
