I’m a several-time CEO who is passionate about ensuring that the wealth created by a family over one or more generations is preserved. Business owners often sell their companies to Private Equity firms, and on average 5 years later the PE firms sell them again for often double the price. This is value that should have been realized by the business owners. Stanton Associates works with business owners prior to an exit to unlock company value and ensure the owners keep it for themselves and their families. In addition, we provide assistance to companies facing challenges, including at times of crisis. We deliver rapid and effective tactical measures to improve the situation significantly, as well as long-term solutions for growth and profitability. From an early age, and still today, I have loved both business and physics. I still read Scientific American but I found out I was not going to solve the mysteries of the universe. However, I discovered that I am very good at solving business problems. If a company is not enjoying earnings growth, or worse is losing money, that is a problem. I grew up in England and moved to Los Angeles with Arthur Andersen, ending up running the capital markets practice in the US Southwest. I was also a member of the firmwide M&A team. It was a fun time which got better when 25 years ago an ultra-high net worth business owner and client recruited me to help with several companies he owned. I learned a lot. And I developed a methodology for success that I have used many times since both as a CEO and as an advisor to companies. I have also achieved success as the turnaround CEO of troubled companies.
