Raj Fernando is the founder and CEO of Scoutahead.com and the former founder and CEO of Chopper Trading.Fernando attended Beloit College where he earned bachelor’s degrees in economics and history, and also studied at University College London. While still in college, Fernando volunteered at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and after graduating, he worked his way up to the highest position. He held various trading positions at the Chicago Board of Trade for several years, until he founded Chopper Trading in 2002. By 2004, Fernando stopped trading full time to grow Chopper Trading into the industry powerhouse that it would become.Fernando grew Chopper Trading into one of the largest market participants. As CEO, Fernando designed, implemented and managed some of the most sophisticated risk management, communications, trading, monitoring and source code security systems in the financial industry. With approximately 250 employees worldwide, the company comprised many of the brightest engineers and traders in the world. Fernando sold Chopper to DRW, a leading financial firm, in 2015.With 25 years of experience and expertise in the international financial markets and over a decade of experience leading cyber security initiatives, Fernando provides exceptional insights and counsel for his own companies as well as the boards and organizations he serves. Fernando is actively involved in foreign policy organizations, serving on the Foreign Policy Leadership Committee at the Brookings Institute as well as on the Board of Directors for the American Security Project and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.In 2016, Fernando launched Scoutahead.com™, a secure and encrypted enterprise collaboration system.
