Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of packaging components and delivery systems for injectable drugs and healthcare products.

Silji currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at West Pharmaceutical Services, where he is responsible for company’s Research & Development and Information Technology functions. R&D is focused on primary packaging components and medical devices in the field of injectable drug delivery. Silji is also responsible for company’s enterprise applications, digital marketing, software & hardware engineering, infrastructure, and cyber security across the company’s global footprint. Before joining West, Silji served as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of MilliporeSigma, a subsidiary of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. Silji spearheaded the post-merger technology integration following the acquisition of Sigma-Aldrich across e-commerce, digital marketing, and the ERP integrations. Prior to this role, Silji served as VP and CIO at Sigma-Aldrich Corporation, and worked in various senior business and IT leadership roles at Invensys Operations Management. His business acumen also includes product engineering, supply chain and software engineering from his time at ArvinMeritor, DaimlerChrysler, and Chrysler. Silji received a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from the George Washington University School of Business and a Master of Business Administration in International Business Operations from Lawrence Technological University. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University. Silji has been recognized as a 2020 Minority Business Leader Award Winner by the Philadelphia Business Journal. The Minority Business Leader Award honors professionals who have achieved outstanding business success.
