Founded in 1888, Utah State University is Utah's only land grant institution, offering 168 undergraduate degrees, 143 graduate degrees and serving over 28,000 students in Logan and around the state at Distance Education campuses and learning centers, as well as at USU Eastern. Known for its robust and cutting edge research, Utah State challenges students to pursue academic opportunities that will change the world.
I am an incoming Assistant Professor of Psychology at University of Houston. Previously, I was a postdoctoral research scholar at Utah State University. In 2020, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Temple University. Prior to my postdoctoral training, I received my Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology from Utah State University in 2019, and I received my B.S. in Psychology in 2013. My primary research examines the development and application of structural equation models with a focus on longitudinal data analysis, mixture distribution methods, moderation analysis, multimethod design, model fit indices, and validity. More specifically, my research engages latent state-trait and classical test theories to meaningfully understand longitudinal and multimethod processes. In order to appropriately engage these theories, my research emphasizes considering measurement invariance, latent interaction effects, the disaggregation of manifest variable variance, and appropriately testing model fit indices. I have expertise in the research process from conceptualizing research studies, planning and gathering data, cleaning data, evaluating statistical assumptions, testing statistical models, interpreting statistical results in the appropriate research context, visualizing results, writing professional reports, and publishing professional reports. I am generally interested in the application of statistical methods to educational and psychological research. I have interest in continuing research on interrelated topics, including student skill development and career attainment, cognitive load theory, socialization theory, and social cognitive career theory.
