My primary mission is to connect people - through overcoming challenges together, finding joy in games, and crossing the boundaries between tech and humanity. Most recently, I've led Product teams at Unity to enable more creativity in multiplayer games development, focused on empowering the development community to bring their dreams to life. A summary of my experiences over the past 15 years: People Management - I've had the opportunity to grow 4 teams at Unity, leading up to 35+ people at the peak, and growing 2 of these teams from the ground up. Two teams were all Product Managers (including the most recent), and two were GM-like incubators with cross-disciplines in engineering, product, program, etc. Vision and Strategy - I've always been known as "glue" - someone who can connect the dots, cross the seams, and ultimately form a coherent strategy (even when that requires cross-org collaboration). At Unity, I lead the Product strategy and vision for half of an 800-person org, and contribute to vision and strategy across the entire company. Cross-industry HW and SW tech experience - Electrical Engineering by education and Software by trade, I've often lived at the intersection of hardware and software. At Oculus/Facebook I led products first for their analytics platform, and later for new technologies that required partnerships across software and hardware industries. I lead negotiations with 30+ partners and subsequent product collaborations. AAA and Indie game development experiences- I led "workflow" product initiatives at Bungie on Destiny 1, which ranged from Multiplayer game iteration tools to 3D artist workflows. As a Director at Funomena, I led 2 of their titles, including one focused on kid-friendly onboarding to VR/AR tech. Cloud Services, Servers, and Networking experience - at Unity, I've led orgs focused on full-stack services and client libraries required to power online games and services, to the point that I now use this knowledge to educate others in the community. ML and algorithms experience - in my PhD courses and research I delved deeply into ML for natural language processing and other stochastic systems. I learned the strengths and weaknesses of different algorithms. I've since seen these applied at Oculus Research in related technologies. D&I Leadership - I kicked off Oculus' firs ever diversity programs years ago, and I remain an internal advocate and active leader in the D&I discussions and programs at Unity. I continue to learn and grow as I seek to ensure a breadth of perspectives are present and valued.
