I've started my career as a machinist learning all i can and refining my programming skill set. I have extensive experience with Fanuc controllers and macro B programming. I have experience with lathes, verticals, and horizontal CNCs as well as some time spent learning CMMs. I've always enjoyed solving problems and actively seek to improve everything I see. Improving efficiency is not only a goal to me, but an enjoyable past time. I've been involved with CNC programming from my first day in a machine shop and have been dabbling with various forms of programming since I was 7 and was given a Commodore 64. I use Solidworks and Mastercam to create programs, process prints, and fixturing. Being involved with creating processes for taking an engineers idea and turning it into a working product every step of the way is quite enjoyable. I spent some time in the role of technical manager & production supervisor. I was very involved with implementing lean principles. Our Gemba boards have been especially effective at both keeping everyone plantwide aware of our business goals and challenges, but even more importantly, sharing with employees on the shop floor the good their own individual efforts are helping us to achieve. I am normally introverted and fairly quiet, but have found coaching employees to be quite enjoyable. I especially like identifying gaps in others' skill sets and teaching them in order to make them feel more confident and productive. This method of leadership combined with my extensive knowledge of machining principles is helping us achieve better production, better quality, more personal ownership, and better morale simultaneously. I've worn many hats in a machine based production environment and plan on continuing to broaden my knowledge of every facet of this industry.
