Tech startups are thriving in Newcastle, and the community needs a venue dedicated to innovation, education and events.

I am an experienced leader with a passion for building strong partnerships between technology and the business it serves: working closely together to develop and deliver strategy, constantly innovating new ways to improve service, and identifying and removing the technology blocks too often hampering business aspirations. Educated at Cambridge and Cranfield (including MA and MBA), my career started in web site design and development, expanding to hosting platforms and analytics and then the full range of enterprise applications, before eventually encompassing the entire IT portfolio: service, infrastructure, project delivery, security and strategy. I have led transformational projects and programmes, including outsource and in-house migrations, data centre builds, SaaS / PaaS / IaaS cloud deployment and development, CRM / sales / business intelligence / subscription / e-commerce systems, video production and software delivery platforms, and recently managed a combined OpEx/CapEx budget of £10m and over 60 staff. I love to drive sustainable change. But by continuously evolving, maximising and improving the agility of existing technology and its delivery, whilst keeping one eye fixed on a desirable future state, we can save revolutionary effort for those activities that create business benefit. I have attained Chartered IT Professional and Chartered Manager status, with key strengths in leadership, strategy, budgeting and governance, management development and best practices, service delivery, process improvement, influencing and communications, and have reported for much of my career at Board level.
